The Annapurna region is Nepal’s most diverse and popular trekking destination. There is a trek suitable for everyone in this region, ranging from the lengthy Annapurna Circuit Trek into the historic Mustang region, to short three-day treks. It combines some of Nepal’s most iconic mountains, such as the fish-tailed Mt. Machhapuchhare and the massive Annapurna I, with a world-class trekking infrastructure and easy access, with most trailheads only an hour or two from Pokhara. The charming Gurung, Manangi, and Thakli villages in the region provide a cultural highlight.
Trekking in the Nepalese Himalayas is simply a light athletic experience as trekking or hiking is not mountaineering. Attitude with a spirit of adventure and good physical form is enough to explore the exotic and will enjoy the thrills of trekking and fascinating discoveries. However it is important to remember, it requires an adequate level of physical preparation and should remember that there is also a psychological commitment in walking on the mountains.
